The Award
The William Wiersma Scholarship
- The William Wiersma  Scholarship will provide up to $5,000 per year, for a maximum of four years.
- The Scholarship is renewable for up to four undergraduate years, based on demonstration of continued progress toward a Bachelors degree in four years, a GPA of at least 3.0 (on 4.0 scale), evidence of continued good citizenship, and ongoing financial need.
- The Scholarship will be remitted directly to the college/university for payment of tuition and fees.
- High school seniors who are entering college and returning college students attending accredited U.S. colleges or universities are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
- Scholarships may only be used for undergraduate study and are limited to those seeking a first bachelor’s degree.
- Only students whose permanent address is within the Cambria/Friesland, Wisconsin area are eligible.
- Award amounts may change from year to year as recipients’ financial situations change. If recipients transfer to a different college, awards will be recalculated to consider the different costs and award packages of the new colleges
- All scholarships are granted at the discretion of the William Wiersma Foundation
